Expecting Rain Photography & Photo Effect Studio Pro Small Review

Taken on a indecisive rainy day in Porthcawl South Wales.
A walk seemed perfect, armed ready with a rather large umbrella and a hat (That as you would expect needed to be held on to in the british wind).
These photos were created amongst the rocky beach and fire bracketed footpath.

Expecting Rain
19.10.14

As you may have noticed many of the photos are identical. There was many photos taken but narrowed down to three favourites, here is where I came back into using my graphic design skills. I played around using Photo Effect Studio Pro, it took some getting use to and a lot of use of the undo button but I got there. Being a girl very much use to and adept in the art of using Adobe Photoshop with all its little creative effects and alterations. Using a new software that was quite limited was a task but it also helped me to narrow down the options to edit a photograph.
When i'm in the creative mood (lately getting difficult as I seem to much prefer being a sofa potato) I often end up with mountains of edits saved on my desktop of the same photograph in different lighting effect or hues. (The task of then choosing only at the most three often becomes horrendous and I ask for as second opinion).
This clever small software also came with beautune a different software platform that is built mainly to edit selfies or even flaws in bigger photography like the one above. Thankfully my skin and the lighting was being very kind to me on the day of this photography. So I had no need to use this part of the software, but I have used it twice on lighting my under eye circles (they are the curse of me, I will never be rid!!). I would probably say beautune is the most tedious software out of the two but defiantly worth the price I paid.

As I have said I have only played around with this software a handful of times so I don't feel confident enough yet to find it's flaws or even how to overcome them. That being that if you do wish a better more in-depth review of this on the cheap side editing software? Please leave me a comment saying so. I most likely will do one in the far future but if I do get comments asking for it sooner , so you can work out whether to buy it yourself I shall get my bum shifting and shall create one up for you!

All photography was taken by the patient and learning Curtis Layland

Brand Love & Jewellery Finds: Empty Casket

I've known about the brand Empty Casket for awhile now, not through tumblr but by pure coincidence.
I went to a concert a good few months ago to support a friend and his band in a small music venue near to where I live. The owner of Empty Casket happened to be stood behind me and I caught a glimpse of her distinctive gothic jewellery. ( I liked the unique-ness and the simple design)
The next morning I woke up with some what of a hangover and decided to flick my way (through half closed eyes) through instagram. Clicking on the 'Explore' button I thumbed my way through a few pictures then I found one of someone modelling jewellery. I was drawn to the jewellery and clicked on the pictures and oddly it was her, (everything happens for a reason I say!).
I followed her links to find her wonderful website for all her gorgeous hand made jewellery.
Which I have now been lusting over for many weeks but I always seemed to be too late for the pieces I really wanted. (She sells out quick!)
Following her on instagram she posted a pic one day of her jewellery being sold in her partners shop, near to where I live. So yesterday I decided to pop along and have a look what goodies I could spend my money on today.
There wasn't many left but I knew I wanted a choker so her partner kindly pulled out the chokers for me and I ended up buying two! (oh such a rebel I am!)

Okay so the hare isn't exactly showing off the lovely half moon 90's choker.
This type of plastic 90's choker is very in at the moment and you can pay up to £12 just for the basic choker, but I didn't pay anything near this price and I had the gorgeous half moon crystal as well. (oh us girls love crystals).
This piece is great to wear on it's own with a high rounded neck top or even layered up with another necklace.
I love how the crystal half moon, glimmers in the sunlight and catches peoples eyes.

Next is this gorgeously simple little elephant on a choker band. I love elephants, always have since a little age and when this was brought out and put on the counter top I immediately picked him up for a closer look. Guess what I just had to have him, I have another elephant choker but that one is purple crystal with a diamond eye this one is more simple and smaller so perfect for layering up.

I will defiantly be keeping an eye on Empty Casket's website from now on for more unique finds and am hopeful to find a ring actually in stock in the future!

FAVOURITE SEASONS & WHY I LOVE AUTUMN!!!

Almost everyone has their favourite season/time of the year.
I have just come to realise Autumn is mine, in an ideal world it would be summer where I should be able to walk out in shorts and skirts without donning on the tights and carrying a warm jacket. But I live in Wales, South Wales in fact where rain seems to never be far behind. I'm sure if your a lovely follower on mine by now you know I am a freezer, I get cold so easily! but also when the heat waves do come I don't deal with the heat well and become irritable. It's a lose-lose situation for me.
So yes Autumn is my favourite, you can get away with wearing Jeans!! ohh I am such a jean girl. Warm long sleeved tops and baggy jumpers. All that without having to layer up like your visiting the polar bears and feeling that over -layered itchy ness.
I am a lover of hot chocolate any day but in the autumn sitting outside, nicely layered in the autumn dim sun with a mug (or starbucks) hot chocolate just seems ideally lovely to me. (of course it has to be layered in marshmallows and cream!)
No one takes notice if you walk down the street in jeans and a pleather jacket with your headphones in, its just normal!

This year I am so excited for Autumn for the above reasons and that;
1. I have a ticket for Company presents bloggers style the hughstreet in London
2. I am going on my first holiday (be that it is small and still in the UK, but it's a holiday right?)
3. For the first time I actually get to "see" london, not just whizz past in a bus/cab to get to somewhere.
4. October = Halloween which means Pumpkins (yey!! squishy messy fun!)
5. Crunchy leaves as you walk through the lanes and lots of pretty colours surrounding you and not forgetting the autumn flowers budding. (got to love those stubborn flowers that stick through the crap weather)
6. I get to wear all my comfy jumpers and tights with pretty dresses.
7. Snuggly nights in, in front of the tv. (not that this doesn't happen anyways, just seems more acceptable)
8. The new fashion items and styles in the shops to buy, lust over and take inspiration from.
9. Make-up that doesn't melt down your face and leave you with black smudges from your mascara. But instead ends up literally all the way down your face thanks to lovely rain and wind. woooo!
10. I can start putting ideas together for christmas.
