Budget Skincare Products

Everyone loves a good bargain, but sometimes is cutting on price really best for your skin?.
So far I have no quarrels with it. Everything here each was £2 or under.
I use all of these daily and no my skin is not model worthy, but for an everyday normal 19 year old girl I am pretty happy.
I have the regular break out on my chin or one dotted randomly and I do have red marks but nothing a bit of foundation can't disguise helpfully.
These products were all bought to help with these problems and so far so good.
'Simple' products are simply Simple. (Terrible pun I know ha ha.) I love 'Simple' products they are cheap and accessible to anyone in local drugstores or supermarkets.
I bought this 'kind to skin, replenishing rich moisturizer' to help my skin as I had dry skin in patches and oily skin on my break outs. I did not have enough money at the time to buy three different moisturizers, a year and a half on and this bottle is still doing well. I put a pea size amount on my finger then gently rub in, in the mornings let it dry and put my make-up on.
I believe I bought this on sale for like £2, I am pretty sure they still range around that price mark.
Hey a year on from when I bought it and it may even be cheaper!
Every night I take my make-up off with one of the three packs of face wipes from 'Osiris- Avise'.
They come in the pack of three and I bought these from the Asda supermarket for £1 all together.
The three packets all do different things, (I have used up the first two, sorry no pictures) first was a deep cleansing pack with good ingredients to get right down to the skin and purify.
Secondly was a kind to skin pack just a all round good make up remover.
Lastly is the best I think, Exfoliating it gets right down past the make-up and with light circular movements brings up all dirt hidden in the skin. Leaves my skin feeling soft.
I think the ideal way to use these packs is to open all three at once (not just as soon as the other runs out like I did) to get a thorough good facial.
I was in the need for some 'non- scented' body wash so when I noticed a 'Simple' branded one in Poundland! I had to get it for these three reasons.
1. It was only a £1.
2. I really like the brand 'Simple', it has really good qualities and the packaging is user friendly.
3.  It has vitamin goodness, Skin loving nutrients and no perfume or coloring to irritate my skin.
This was bought at the time I had really sore spots on my shoulders whilst doing a grocery shop in Asda's. I was wearing a tank top so not only were they very painful but very ugly!
I hurriedly went searching for a treatment, my partner suggested I needed a product that was not a 'cure now treatment' as it would cure them right now but in the long term my skin would get use to it and be un-affected. Almost giving up he noticed the Asda range and found this for under a pound.
'Protect moisturiser- dual action'
What's in the orange bulletpoints:
  • moisturises skin without clogging pores
  • antibacterial ingredients to help prevent spots & breakouts
  • leaves skin feeling soft & smooth
To start with I started putting it on my shoulders and back which really did help!. So I began wearing it as a matt base for make-up (it actually recommends this at the back of the bottle)
But my skin started getting use to it so I changed back to my 'Simple' one for the morning and occasionally put this on after using my facial make-up remover wipes at night.
'Garnier Body Intensive 7days'. This was plastered all over the telly for weeks so as the title says 'days' you would think it would be my first clue to it's use is only good for the body not face!
But I naively bought it before my 'Simple' products believing it would keep my face hydrated without the need for moisturizer everyday. It was safe to say it made my face much worse!
So one day I decided to read the small print and right at the very bottom in very tiny print it says "usage recommendation: do not apply on face."
Poo.... but it has become a great moisturiser for when I have just come out of the bath/shower and especially just after shaved legs. It makes them have this healthy looking glow, silky soft (which my partner often comments on, I still don't think he has figured out how) and leaves my skin feeling literally hydrated for a couple of days afterwards.

Highstreet Beauty Haul All of this for under £20

Yes, You did read right. Everything in that top picture I bought it all for £16.
So what have I found and where?
(Close ups can be found at the bottom of the page)

Top Left is a 2pack of Kohl Black Eyeliner Pencils from Primark for Only a £1, plus you get a sharpener.

Also from Primark is the Volume Boost Black mascara only a £1 too.. I love this mascara it's very thick but not clumpy and leaves me with thick full lashes.

Pink Tease Clear Top Coat Nail Varnish £1, this was more of a tester buy. I wanted to buy a cheap clear top coat to test how well top coat's work on maintaining my look before I bought higher quality. So far other than keeping my Christmas reindeer stickers on, it has not really won me over.

Below that is a dark pink Exaggerate Lip Liner by Rimmel London, for only a £1 in the pound shops it was a rather really good find.

I was after a Lip Liner to replace my shortened previous one, but unable to find a full priced brand one to the colour I wanted. I thought I would give this a try even though much lighter than the colour I was after. So far so good! £1

Below that is another mascara, these come in gold and red casing, the casing has a cold metal feel which is very good for the liquid inside as it is less likely to react to change in temperatures as easily as plastic. They are volume boosting, but I find it gives more of a separated long lash look. £1 by technic.

Right to the Top Coat is a Rimmel Lipstick in 630 Rouge, this was a little too pink than I actually realised in the shop but hey for a £1 who's complaining?

Above is 3 Nail Polishes from the brand 'Jess' I had never heard of this company before but as a £1 each in a pound shop and me having to paint my nails so frequently. I could not resist.
First is a 'happy' Purple as I call it the proper given name for it is 'Willow' but I like the colour, My favorite colour out of the three is the second deep red/burgundy with a shimmer tone too it. This one is called 'Chianti'. (I can not pronounce it)
Lastly is a 'sunset' colour as it was named Most lights I believe it has more of a black tinge than the original navy/ black but the navy can be seen occasionaly.

Next across is Revlon Chroma Chameleon also a pound, This looks like a really rare beautiful colour of gold, green and blue but once painted on nails really the gold is the only one seen. (Major shame!)
Maybelline New York super strong stay for 7 days in Ceramic Blue, is neither ceramic blue nor 7day lasting. I only have a regular job in an office and daily house jobs nothing extraordinary but this nail polish only seems to last 3 days even with top coat over. Hey another pound product good for a matching day outfit though.
Another Maybelline New York Forever Strong Nail Polish for a £1 this is in the colour '835 metal me Teal!' I adore this colour, it is a shimmer dark teal, so far no chips! but the the ends some how have my nail showing through already. (no my nail has not grown from that end!)

Beneath those helpful polishes is another lipstick from the brand Pink Tease.
I love the packaging on this more than anything (mostly the main reason why I bought it but don't tell anyone.hehe) A little darker than the Rimmel one but still is pink and with funny ribbles on it so I believe it may have reacted to temperature change in shipping progress.

A rather pretty hair clip for a £1 just thought I would add it in.

To the left is a Rimmel Gel eyeliner, I have always wanted a black one of these but they are rather pricey, This aubergine miniture version was happily a £1 with a free brush attached to the lid, I happily bought to try out before I bought the bigger version. I am glad I did, many say they find it easier than liquid I do not so far, I can not seem to get the balance of what's enough or not on my brush. (guess takes practice)

Lastly I can not wait to use this once my everyday one has used up, Constance Carrol is a newly found brand to me. I only own a eyeshadow pallete from them but I love that eyeshadow pallete so hopefully I will love this Translucent Powder. (it comes with a free sponge if you use them, I don't but hey you might?) £1 from pound shops and online.

2013 Photo Collage and Four Lessons for the New Year!

Most seem to be doing this photo collage for last year so I decided to join in.
Okay, I have posted this on my social network sites before I got round to putting on here and only now I have realized it is not very true to it's title. These Photo's were taken on my iPhone 4S which I only had in September, So really it's a collage of 5 months of 2013. Whoops
But looking back it must of been a very busy fun packed 5 months even though I thought I led a rather boring, normal life. OKAY it is normal very normal.
But for me it was a giant step in the right direction.
Lets start from the beginning, before the photo's shown above I had a job with my mother delivering hundred of company parcels a day, I decided to ask for professional help with my driving and took my test not long after. Thinking and saying to my instructor I really did not feel confident in driving by myself (really I wished I could but I just didn't think my judgement and timing were matching together as well as should of been) but he urged me to atleast try seen as I passed my theory easily and at least I would know what it was like.
I still swear to this day that, the morning of my test I felt nervous as everyone did but not terrified nervous and it just 'clicked' everyone said you will know when it just 'clicks' one day ( I thought they were talking a load of waffles)
But Nope, Lesson 1 - Believe in yourself, the best surprise is surprising yourself

Next step I was always on the look out for a more reliable job, as in all my classes for work experience I ended up being shoved into an 'admin assistant' job and I was qualified I.T Literate I thought I would try for some admin jobs. They may gain me good skills to actually progress to the job I want.
I got a job within 3 weeks of passing my driving test. (Could not believe my luck)
Lesson 2- Think it's beneath you or only want what you want in life? why not give something offered to you a try? You will gain skills and it will help you know for sure if it's not what you want or maybe it's a step towards what you want!

As I only just started my new job and I was paying rent on my savings to start, a expensive or new car was not reachable for me, I had, had a previous car which I first learnt to drive in and already had insurance on so I believed they would lower it once I passed, but no they tripled it and made it impossible to pay a deposit that big and pay for normal life.
I sold that car and bought a two door similar version of my previous car in a light baby blue, I loved it. It was quirky and square which I hated in cars but I felt like this car suited me.
Turns out the 'mate' that sold it to us was either dumbly clueless or mean. The car was in need of TLC and was very unfair to sell to a first time driver. (litrally the first time I had drove since my test 5 weeks ago)
Lesson 3 - Not everyone in or everything in life is fair. But sometimes that's a great learning Curve.

Me and my partner started looking for places to rent together, we viewed one I had fallen in love with over the internet but really ever heard the saying 'Don't judge a book by it's cover' well this was exactly that but not in a good way.
Someone took that flat just as we asked for another viewing just to make sure not the one for us. My partner found a large apartment listed in a small place on the internet in the very much sort after seaside town by us.
We thought it was too good to be true, it even came fully furnished. This was the ONE but in home version. It was defiantly 'us', we were against 15 others downsized to 4 to view, we were the second to view and as we met the couple we all seemed pretty happy with each other.
The couple agreed if we decided we wanted the place by the next evening they would stop the next viewing, after not so much talking cause we fell in love. We agreed and two weeks later we were through the moving in progress.
Lesson 4 - Don't Judge a book by it's cover

Now we live very happily together just spent our first Christmas together, a nice quiet NYE
