Everday Make-up Bag Essentials Review

This post is basically what it says on the 'tin' or in this case blog title!

So that's my small little Primark bag, it's not the best but it does the job. I did previously pick up a white one but the bag I bought to put it in rubbed its ink all over it, so naturally I took it back with the bag and swapped them. I wanted one with two compartments so when it's all neat and tidy (that is a big WHEN) the brushes and hand gel sit in one and makeup in another, makes digging into it slyly in work easier.

So lets start off with something that is going to appear in my June favourites this Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer. It was recommended to me by a girl on twitter so seen as I previously I loved the foundation. I had to rush to Superdrug to buy it, it was pretty expensive, almost matching the price of the much larger foundation pot but I sighed and bought it anyways.
Yes it does look a bit dirty in the lid, but that's because the concealer so kindly decided to explode one day in my bag (word of warning try to keep it horizontal with nothing pressing on it or the lid facing up!). I was so gutted when I noticed this had happened so was scraping a cotton bud around it for days using up the non dried concealer. Would I buy it again? yes most likely, would be better if it was in different packaging although the brush is handy, I do still have to use my Arve London brush to blend it in anyways. The consistency is thick which is good for covering my purple under eyes, not good on the use of hiding spots though, it seems to stick around them highlighting them more than helping.

Next this powder has been in this bag and the bag before that for, forever and it should defiantly be thrown away especially as I don't use it anymore. But it sits in the brush compartment so happily and it feels good knowing I have a bit of powder with me. (can't take the one I do use as the bottle is big).
There's not much to say about this little gem, I found it in a poundshop as a refill, not having the actual packaging I didn't care as the box it originally came in was pretty. It's translucent doesn't leave clumps and sits on nicely.

Lipstick now this is the one item that does change in my bag, I now have two in here but the reason is layering!!. I use to just use the M.U.A Wild Berry one on its own as a nice rich plum colour but I have now realised it's a bit too dark for my small lips and have started using the Bourjois (Rouge Edition in 02 Beige trench) lipstick over the top. I wont use the bourjois alone or any nude lipsticks alone as it makes my lips appear non existent in some lighting. Gorgeous on girls with big or fuller lips but not for me unfortunately. The M.U.A is very matte and I love this as it creates a good base and does stick around for hours on its own as well. The colour is rich and it doesn't fade either, the bourjois is more soft and creamy it makes my lips feel smooth and creates a nice shine for £7 a time I wouldn't say it's great on the staying power because its so creamy its easily wiped away.

Mascara, or my saviour as I think of it, honestly if I was put on an island with people and the only make-up thing I could take would be mascara, ignore the sun cream or lip balm. 100% that would be the item I would take. My current mascara had gone off, it made my eyes itch and it had a horrible smell so I searched Superdrug shelves as I so often do and found this nicely packaged Mascara wand.
M.U.A eXtreme Curl Mascara, it's shapes my eyelashes nicely and rarely ever leaves clumps or bulks them together but as for the curl part I have defiantly seen better. It doesn't make my eyelashes longer either, not that it claims to do this but this may have won me over to buying it again but not this time I think next time I will buy another Bourjois Kohl Mascara to live in my make-up bag.

Bourjois Mega Liner 24Hr. Staying power is good! but not 24Hr good, If you use primer yes it does keep it there for much longer but it doesn't stop it from creasing and causing cracks throughout the day. The colour is very rich and if you have a steady hand always yes its super easy and a helpful little angled pen liner. If like me you sometimes look like you've borrowed your Nan's nerves and shaking like a leaf then it can be tricky. (I have to use the under mirror bathroom shelf for precision when I'm rushing) But 8 out of 10 for it and I would defiantly buy again.

Sticking with Eyeliner I found the best Kohl pencil eyeliner for me in Primark yes Primark! I came across this really good find back last year and stuck with buying it ever since. For a pound two come in the pack they are very long and comes with a little sharpener which is handy as they do clog up and go blunt easily. I put this on my lower waterline so it does fade easily but I have found it only fades a smidgen less than a higher brand does so if I re-apply say every 3 hours its okay. Personally I don't mind reapplying only my lower eyeliner and lippy throughout the day.

Another M.U.A product for my bag it's their powder blusher in the shade Cupcake. The packaging is rather plastic but the case itself isn't easy to open so unlikely to open and ruin in your bag. yey!. Engraved in the blusher is the M.U.A logo so I can easily see when I am coming to the end of the pot and need to re-buy soon. The colour is very easily blend-able and it isn't very light nor in your face it's a happy medium for me and with the right blusher brush it's so easy to apply.

Oh yeah something else from Primark which I have recently started loving. Its a Hand sanitizer but without the horrible scent that comes with it, this one is strawberry scented. It smells good, clean and makes my hands feel cleaner and softer. The top opener is very difficult to open especially if you have long nails but also means you know it won't leak!

Lastly is my little purple OG pocket mirror, I received this as a gift for Christmas many years ago. As all girls do throughout the years I have claimed a large pile of pocket mirrors for gifts but so far this is the lightest, easiest and slips in easily against my makeup without the bulkiness.
Not forgetting these are my the Arve London brushes that I take with me out of my collection I mentioned.

I love the Match Perfect foundation but haven't thought about using the concealer. I might have to have a look next time I pop into town!

I really would suggest it, just try not to squeeze it too much or there's a mess.
