Guest Post: What are they wearing in Russia: 5 Classic Fashion Trends You Should Try

Hi guys! My name is Lesia and I'm glad to be on Unique Beauty with you.
Fashion is diverse and fascinating in its differences. What would be considered in fashion in, let’s say, Egypt, would not quite fit in Switzerland. This is why I've decided to share with you a bit of exclusive thoughts on what's in fashion in another corner of the earth, in Russia's biggest towns like St. Petersburg and Moscow. It’s no secret that bloggers implement the trends around them to show people what is most fashionable and great to wear right at this moment. This is why here I’ve used pictures of really nice russian blogger girls that know what they’re doing with their outfits (and I put a couple of my own pics to show you that everybody tends to do that here).
As a frequent visitor of european countries, I always notice a huge difference between how people dress on the streets in Russia and in Europe. Russian girls often prefer femininity over comfort in clothing, and here are the trends that make the difference for us:
1. High heel and platform shoes. High heels are one of the strongest longest running trends in the capitals (and by capitals I mean both the gorgeous fast-evolving business Moscow and the elegant ex-capital by the sea, the city St. Petersburg). This tendency shows even with pretty casual outfits, but also in chique and elegant winter outfits. If you’re wondering, how we’re managing pumps in snowy winters… well, we do our best to keep our balance and posture!

2. Massive collar-like jewelry that is a very popular way of accessorizing shirts, dresses and just looking chique. It’s the perfect way to make the same dress speak to you in a completely different way. As long as you’ve got 3 massive different necklaces, you can’t go wrong: just add it to any outfit to spice it up.

3. A-shaped wide skirts and dresses. Mini or midi skirts – it doesn’t matter! We love them! The secret is that skirts and dresses are the best way to say “we’re girls and we just love it”.

4. Oversized coats: how else will the girls keep warm? Despite the straight shape they create they’re easy to manipulate in your outfit. You can use them as blazers,
or just get wrapped in it and focus on your shoes and accessories. The color is important too: unless whatever you’re wearing underneath is really colorful, go with bright and easy to spot colors.

5. Flower patterns, lace and light fabrics. Spring was in our minds long before the temperatures actually went up. While in Europe it was already 5-10 degrees for some time, we, russians, were still shivering from the cold. But setting a mood with your clothes is very important: it brings warmth to your whole look. So whenever the weather is bad, you can lighten the mood by choosing an interesting pattern or a colorful print.

Thank you so much for reading and thanks to Charlotte for allowing me to write this post for you :) Check me out on Tale Of The Great and see you soon, hopefully, implementing feminine trends that russian girls really love ;)
